FAQs
Sail with Jen Robertson aboard Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas
April 2–7, 2027
What is this cruise?
This is a special group sailing hosted with Pittsburgh-based influencer Jen Robertson. Guests will enjoy a vacation aboard Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas, along with exclusive group activities, opportunities to connect with Jen and fellow travelers, and some surprises along the way.
Will Jen Robertson actually be on the cruise?
Yes! Jen will be sailing with the group. There will be opportunities to meet Jen, take photos, participate in group activities and enjoy time together throughout the sailing.
Will there be special events?
Absolutely! We are planning special group events throughout the cruise, including a meet & greet with Jen and a group scavenger hunt. Additional activities and details will be announced as we get closer to sailing.
Are there special perks for the group?
Yes! We have some special group perks in the works. Details will be announced as they are finalized, so be sure to book with our group to make sure you receive all eligible group updates and perks.
Where does the cruise go?
The group will sail from Port Canaveral, Florida, with stops in Grand Turk and Perfect Day at CocoCay as well as time at sea.
Do I have to participate in the group activities?
No! The group activities are completely optional. You can participate as much—or as little—as you’d like. Want to hang out with everyone? Great! Want a quiet afternoon by the pool? That’s perfectly fine too.
How much is the deposit?
The deposit is just $100 per person to secure your spot.
Can I book this cruise somewhere else?
To be part of our Jen Robertson group, your cruise reservation must be made through Take Me Away Travel. This allows us to properly manage the group, communicate important updates, coordinate group activities and ensure you receive the group benefits and perks associated with the sailing.
Can Take Me Away Travel help with things outside the cruise?
Absolutely! If you’d like assistance with pre- or post-cruise hotels, flights, transfers, excursions or extending your vacation, we can help coordinate those arrangements for you.
Do I have to travel with the group?
Not necessarily. We can help you arrange your travel around the cruise based on your individual needs. Want to arrive early? Stay a few extra days? Make it a longer Florida vacation? We’ll help you put it together.
Who do I contact if I have questions?
Your travel advisor at Take Me Away Travel will be your point of contact for your cruise reservation and travel arrangements. We’re here to help from the time you book until you arrive home.
Why should I book with the group?
Because this isn’t just another cruise.
You’re getting the chance to sail with Jen Robertson, meet other members of the community, participate in exclusive group events, take part in a scavenger hunt, enjoy special group perks—and have a travel professional handling the details for you.
And you don’t have to figure everything out yourself. Take Me Away Travel is here before, during and after the cruise to help make your vacation as easy as possible.
What if I get motion sickness?
Modern cruise ships are designed with stabilizers to help minimize ship movement, and many guests who are concerned about motion sickness do just fine cruising. If you’re prone to motion sickness, we recommend talking with your healthcare provider before traveling about prevention options that may be appropriate for you.
When choosing a cabin, guests who are particularly sensitive to motion may prefer a cabin lower and closer to the middle of the ship, where movement is generally less noticeable.
Are the ship and cruise accessible?
Yes. Explorer of the Seas offers accessible accommodations and features designed to assist guests with a variety of mobility and accessibility needs.
If you have accessibility requirements, please let us know before booking whenever possible. We can help identify appropriate accessible staterooms and make sure Royal Caribbean is aware of your needs.
Guests should also let us know about requirements involving:
-
Wheelchair or mobility assistance
-
Accessible staterooms
-
Service animals
-
Dietary needs
-
Visual or hearing assistance
-
Other accommodations
Important: Accessible cabins and certain services may be limited, so early planning is strongly recommended.
Will a drink package be included?
Details about beverage packages and additional group perks will be announced as they are finalized.
If a beverage package or other onboard perk is included with the group, eligible guests will receive those details directly from Take Me Away Travel.
If a drink package is not included, we’ll be happy to help you determine whether purchasing one separately makes sense for you.
What if I use a wheelchair, scooter or other mobility device?
Guests who use wheelchairs, scooters or other mobility devices are welcome to cruise. If you require an accessible stateroom or have specific mobility needs, please let Take Me Away Travel know as early as possible.
We can work with Royal Caribbean to help identify an appropriate stateroom and communicate your accessibility needs.
Please note that mobility devices have size and storage requirements, and accessible staterooms are limited, so we strongly recommend making these arrangements before booking.
Can I bring my medications?
Yes. Guests should bring all necessary medications with them and keep them in their original labeled containers whenever possible.
We recommend packing medications in your carry-on rather than checked luggage and bringing enough medication for the entire trip, plus a little extra in case of unexpected travel delays.
If you have prescription medications that require special handling, refrigeration or other accommodations, let us know ahead of time so we can help you determine what arrangements may be needed.
What travel documents do I need?
Travel-document requirements depend on your citizenship and individual circumstances.
For U.S. citizens, a valid passport is strongly recommended for cruise travel, even when an itinerary may permit other documentation. Your passport should generally be valid for the required period beyond your travel dates.
Your travel documents are your responsibility, so please make sure all required documents are valid before sailing.
Take Me Away Travel will provide guidance on the documentation requirements applicable to your trip, but guests are responsible for obtaining and carrying their required documents.
We also recommend making copies or secure digital backups of important travel documents.
Who is this cruise for?
This is worth answering because people may wonder whether they have to already know Jen or be part of her community.
Can anyone join the group?
Yes! You don’t need to be a longtime follower of Jen to join us. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, with friends or with family, you’re welcome to be part of the group.
Can I cruise solo?
Absolutely! Solo travelers are welcome. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and have built-in activities and events throughout the cruise while still having plenty of time to do your own thing.
Can I bring someone who doesn’t follow Jen?
Absolutely! Your travel companion doesn’t need to be a Jen Robertson follower to participate in the group. Bring your spouse, friend, family member or travel buddy!
How will I receive updates about the group?
Once you’re booked, you’ll receive important group information and updates from Take Me Away Travel. As we get closer to sailing, we’ll provide additional details about group events, meet-and-greet information, the scavenger hunt and any special perks.
Is the meet & greet mandatory?
No. All group activities and events are optional. We want you to enjoy your vacation your way!
Can I book excursions independently?
Absolutely. You can choose to explore the ports on your own, book through Royal Caribbean, or have Take Me Away Travel help you arrange excursions. Please be mindful of times to be back on the ship though.
What happens after I reserve my spot?
Once your $100-per-person deposit is received, Take Me Away Travel will secure your group reservation and provide you with the next steps, payment information and important deadlines. We’ll keep you informed as additional group details are finalized.
Can I make payments?
Yes! Rather than paying for your entire cruise at once, guests can make payments toward their balance according to the group’s payment schedule.
Will there be a group packing list?
Yes! As we get closer to sailing, we’ll provide helpful information about what to pack, what to wear for group events and anything special you’ll want for the Jen Robertson cruise experience.
Will there be photo opportunities with Jen?
Yes! A group meet-and-greet will be part of the cruise experience. Additional details about timing, location and how the photo opportunity will work will be shared with booked guests as we get closer to sailing.
What happens if a port is canceled or the itinerary changes?
Cruise itineraries are controlled by Royal Caribbean and can change because of weather, safety, operational needs or other circumstances. If an itinerary change occurs, we’ll communicate relevant information to our group as soon as possible.
What if I have to cancel my cruise?
Cancellation policies are determined by Royal Caribbean and depend on how close you are to sailing. Your travel advisor can explain the applicable cancellation terms when you book. We also strongly recommend considering travel insurance to help protect your investment.
